Churton History

A brief history of the area

Churton History

Situated east of the River Dee, the Cheshire village of Churton is nestled between the villages of Aldford and Farndon. The village was historically divided into two townships known as Churton by Farndon, and Churton by Aldford. Now a village with its own parish boundaries, Churton is divided by the main access route of the B5130. One of Cheshire’s 96 conservation areas, the village contains a number of listed buildings. The White Horse public house (currently closed) is a popular refreshment stopover for ramblers and cyclists.
